I came across this today on Morrissey Solo Forums and I was quite impressed.  I e-mailed the Author and he outlined some of his plans and when he gets his site up and running 100%, I think it’ll be awesome.

At the moment, it includes Marr’s commentary of the songs and videos of amateur players covering the songs on youtube.  Tabs to follow.

This is how the author describes the site:

I created this blog to showcase the guitar work of Johnny Marr from the Smiths, and to help those who want to learn his guitar parts or learn more about his gear and production techniques.

I will cover the catalog song by song, using youtube videos from guitarists, chords, tab, and comments from Johnny when they are available. Many of the songs feature many different guitar tracks; often one person will capture something that another will not, so I will be posting everything that I feel helps with the understanding of the overall song, or any part of it. The gig was magic.  Jay has such charisma and charm that it’s impossible not to like him.  I even got to meet him afterwards.  He is an Adonis.

He opened with ‘In Dublin’s Fair City’ and played his hits after that.  ‘Soda Shop’ from Shortbus was definitely the highlight of the gig (as seen in the video above.)

This is an awesome song.  It’s up there with ‘Monster‘ as one of their best songs.  It’s a great song to kick off their new album, “This Is A Fix.”  The album is set for release on August 25th 2008.
